Nadine Lohof DE, b. 1987

In Nadine Lohof’s paintings, the human figure becomes a carrier of psychological and social tensions. Bodies gather in fragmented, at times stage-like situations; gestures, gazes, and moments of touch suggest relationships without resolving them into narrative. Lohof draws on motifs and conventions from art history, translating them into a contemporary pictorial language in which intimacy and estrangement, tenderness and latent aggression remain closely intertwined.
