Carolin Trunk DE, b. 1988

With dynamic and expressive strokes, Carolin Trunk develops abstract works whose events take place on several spatial levels. In them, the painterly gesture meets surfaces and other constellations of forms; sometimes it appears free-standing, then attached to freely drawn grids, sometimes deepening the pictorial space, sometimes remaining on the surface. With her emphatically free will to form, Carolin Trunk's works almost form maps in which dimensions of chance, control, and risk in painting become the all-important theme, while the paintings themselves, with their abstract forms and dynamically guided lines, provoke quick and alert way of seeing.

Carolin Trunk lives and works in Offenbach am Main. After studying architecture from 2012 on she studied painting in the class of Anette Schröter at the Academy of Fine Arts (HGB) in Leipzig. 2018 she finished her studies with a diploma. This was followed by a move to Offenbach and a collaboration with the FILIALE gallery in Frankfurt am Main, where her works have been presented in various group and solo exhibitions.
