After serving as an undersea diver with the GDRs peoples navy from 1984-1988, Rayk Goetze studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts (HGB) in Leipzig from 1991 to 1997 with Arno Rink and Neo Rauch. From 1995-1996 he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy, and in 2000 he got his master students degree from Prof. Arno Rink. His works have been shown in group and solo exhibitions throughout the world and his works are being collected internationally. Rayk Goetze is a painter of the renowned new Leipzig School.
