Selma van Panhuis NL, b. 1980

Selma van Panhuis creates color field compositions with pictorial spaces both contemplative in the strong ambiance of their color and vibrant and activating on close viewing. In making her paintings, Selma uses natural pigments and traditional methods of color production, in this case here the tempera technique.

 

Selma van Panhuis studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Den Haag, Netherlands. Since her masterstudents studies from 2011 to 2013 with Heribert Ottersbach at the Academy of Fine Arts she lives in Leipzig. Her works have been shown in solo and group shows in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. She received several scholarships and in the course of to residencies in 2015 and 2019 she worked in Norway and China.
